A Rapid Re-Design Method for the NLC DDS and Phase Stability of the Accelerating Mode: Implementation and Results

چکیده
In order to reduce the dipole wake encountered by the first few bunches accelerated in a multibunch NLC scenario the DDS (damped detuned structure) was re-designed such that a much improved Gaussian fall-off occurs in the initial wake-function. From the 9 parameterised model of DDS 1 we use a mapping function to allow DDS 3 & 4 to be modeled and hence avoid additional and prohibitively time consuming MAFIA runs. The equivalent circuit parameters and geometrical parameters are treated as functions of the synchronous frequency and are readily mapped onto the new synchronous frequencies. The new geometrical parameters form a family where each is associated with the iris diameter. In order to assess the deviation of the phase from 2n/3 the difference between the new and old parameters is investigated. In many cases the difference is found to be of the order of a few tens of nanometers

Studying the Effect of Horizontal Drains on Stability of Heterogeneous and Homogeneous Earth Dams during Rapid Drawdown Condition
One of the main concerns to design earth dam is the stability of the upstream slope of the earth dam in phase of rapid drawdown. Confined pore water pressure reduces the effective stress in this mode, so possibility of the instability and slippage will be increased. The main goal of this research is to investigate changes in the pore water pressure by using horizontal drains in upstream slope o...
متن کاملImplementation of Control Variables to Exploit Output Power for SRGs in Single Pulse Mode Operation
This paper presents an analytical modeling method of optimal control variables to maximize output power for switched reluctance generators (SRGs) in single pulse mode operation. This method extends the basic theory of the Stiebler model and utilizes the flux linkage function to express the inductance model of SRG. In this paper, the optimal phase current shape of SRG for maximum output power is...
متن کاملDesign of A No-chatter Fractional Sliding Mode Control Approach for Stabilization of Non-Integer Chaotic Systems
A nonlinear chattering-free sliding mode control method is designed to stabilize fractional chaotic systems with model uncertainties and external disturbances. The main feature of this controller is rapid convergence to equilibrium point, minimize chattering and resistance against uncertainties. The frequency distributed model is used to prove the stability of the controlled system based on dir...
